Under Daytona Beach’s commission-manager form of government, voters elect a city commission, which consists of seven members who serve four-year, staggered terms. Don’t leave without popping into the gift shop to pick something up to remember your trip to the museum. Besides Florida history, the museum also has a few pop culture pieces that highlight a sense of Americana. One thing not to miss is the weekly yoga classes in the art gallery every Wednesday night; those stretches are a little easier to complete when surrounded by magnificent art. While most of the museum focuses on art, the exhibitions rotate out frequently, so you never know what you’ll see. Along the beach, you can look for shells, enjoy the surf and bask in the warm Florida sun.

Designated beach driving areas are open during daylight hours, weather and tide permitting. Average water temp at the beach is 74 degrees. Over 1000 parking spaces are available inside the garage, which also houses an intermodal transfer station for VoTran. The garage is strategically located, next to the Ocean Center, Daytona Lagoon, and across the street from the Hilton Hotel and Ocean Walk Shoppes. The present facility was constructed in 1992 at the cost of $46 million, and includes both a domestic terminal and an International terminal. Basic utilities in Daytona Beach (water and sewer) are provided by the city government. Some of the larger private schools include Father Lopez Catholic High School. US 1 (Ridgewood Avenue) also passes north–south through Daytona Beach. Daytona Beach is easily accessible by I-95 that runs north and south and I-4 connecting Daytona Beach with Orlando and Tampa. DAB is also heavily used for general aviation, largely due to Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University, whose campus is located at the airport. Current passenger airlines serving DAB include Delta Air Lines (with nonstop service to Atlanta) and American Airlines (with nonstop service to Charlotte).
